Late Term 4 of 2024, River Valley Primary School was approached by a generous community member, who is also a member of the Brunswick Junction Men's Shed, with a request for assistance.
The project involved decorating a community bookcase that would be installed outside the Burekup General Store. The bookcase is to be a shared space where locals can freely exchange books, fostering literacy and encouraging community engagement.
Eager to contribute, the school embraced the challenge. Students and staff worked together to design and decorate the bookcase, ensuring it would be vibrant, welcoming, and a standout feature in the local area.
This collaboration not only showcased our commitment to supporting community initiatives but also strengthened the connection between the students and local residents. It was a powerful demonstration of how teamwork and creativity can enrich and unite a community.
